Java rhymes with lava!
Day 09
04.03.2011
The mountains of fire are the biggest attractions in java, can’t wait to risk my life to see no dormant volcanoes. We have decided to take a hike up and down java’s most sacred and eerie mountains of fire Gunung Bromo, which I found awesome that it is one of three volcanoes that have emerged from a vast crater. This is not the biggest it actually looks like a baby compared to the others.
After climbing one of the worlds wonders we will be heading to Kelimutu National Park to see another wonder of the world the tri-colored lakes, kelimutu is very sacred to locals because legend has it that the dead souls go to these lakes the young go to the turquoise the old go to the brown and the wicked go to the black lake.
The lakes are so beautiful, but the thickness of the water looks like paint. The only thing is we had to cut things short because it started raining. Which is said to have the most beautiful view of the lakes when it's raining!!!! great timing.
We are staying at watugana bungalows only for one night wohooo!!!
We have finished in the Java of Lava and we are heading over to Borobudur to visit the Buddhist temple, not sure what to wear there but I am sure we will figure it out... so excited.
